I bought a Willem eprom PCB5.0E programmer but can not find the software to run it. I went to one site and got a nasty virus that made me have to wipe the hard drive. So if anyone has and or knows where I can download a 'clean' version it would be greatly appreciated. God Speed, Fred. Mar 21, 2013. Maintain the EPROM programmer EPROG 27011, which became popular at least in Germany for years ago. But the programmer is still in use. The tool 'eprom' has been written in Pascal and can be invoked from a shell on every linux machine.

The Willem programmer is a device for programming electronic memory such as erasable-programmable read-only memory (EPROM), and electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) types. It comes as a bare PCB and this one is version PCB 5.0. It also has an accompanying software CD, compatible with Windows operating systems, and the manual and operating instructions are on the CD. It requires a parallel data cable to connect to a computer. An extension cable with a 25 pin male connector at one end and female at the other should work.

The red LED marked Vpp is very useful in making sure that the programming voltage is correct, as many memory chips require different voltage levels.
DIP Switch Settings
These DIP Switch settings are also very easy to configure. After selecting the memory integrated circuit, the software displays a diagram of how these switches should be set. The settings are obviously different for different chips.

When I bought this programmer on eBay, there were many sellers with a similar product, and some of them will sell just the programmer board without the cables whilst others will sell the cables as well.
